Throughout her career Jana has proven her ability to identify unconventional opportunities and turn them into businesses and products.
By the age of 25 Jana was a sales leader at at Fortune 40 company with revenue placing her in the top 5%. She transitioned to consumer internet and mobile technology, built a mobile publishing platform for 70K community journalists at Examiner.com, and continued on to co-found two companies herself.
Her experience growing Tapestry, a consumer storytelling platform out of the betaworks studio in NYC, and Fun.org, a one-click-purchase social ticketing app, cemented her proficiency in interaction-focused consumer product development. With ten years of real-world consumer mobile experience, Jana joined Blue Run Ventures to source, mentor and connect with early-stage entrepreneurs.
Jana has a strong and varied speaking resumé that includes events such as Social Media Week, SV Forum Women in Technology, Lynda.com courses, Princeton University’s Entrepreneurship Series, and Designers + Geeks.
